In excessive amounts, negative side effects can also result.
Additionally, studies have also found that smokers who take Vitamin E supplements have increased the risk of developing lung cancer. The incidents of lung cancer among smokers increased by 27% compared to those who do not take Vitamin E supplements at all. These are in addition to the many benefits of Vitamin E, their dangerous side effects should also be understood as well.

If you are going to get Vitamin E supplements, get the natural form of the vitamin E as in "d-alpha-tocopherol" instead of the synthetic form which is "dl-alpha-tocopherol". This is distinguised in the ingredient label by whether it starts with "d" or "dl".
