Cayenne pepper is red in color and tastes hot and spicy. It can be easily obtained from your local grocery stores and supermarkets.
Cayenne is hot because it contains high concentration level of a substance known as capsaicin. Capsaicin stimulates the mucus membranes lining of the nasal passages to drain thereby helping clear nasal congestion and stuffiness. In addition, it's heatiness also stimulates a type of secretions that breaks up congestion even faster. However, do remember not to take too much cayenne pepper if you are not used to its hot and spiciness as it could irritate or upset your stomach when taken too much.
Cough Remedies Preparation
Anyway, you can include cayenne pepper into any kind of foods, bread, pizza, vegetables, ice cream, milk, or even plain water just to name a few. The best method to rid your cough is to take 3 servings a day of some cayenne pepper added to warm or hot water. Drink it for a couple of times until your cough no longer persists. Add two tablespoon of lemon juice or maybe also add some honey to taste if you want. Usually, the effect is that your cough will cease almost immediately and that relief would last for at least a couple of hours after the first consumption of the cough remedies.
Also take note that if your cough does not get better after two or three days trying the cough remedies shown, consult your doctor for proper medication.
